With more than 350 attendees, the International Grains Conference is an endeavor by the International Grains Council (IGC) to offer the global grain community information services through a three day exhaustive conference.  The IGC has been held annually over the the last 17 years and is one of the most respected events pertaining to this industry segment. This year’s conference participants had insight into how leaders from the industry and governments see current and future developments. The conference was beneficial to attendees in many ways and most importantly by its timing which enabled players in this sector to gain a better understanding of the current economic scenario and its effect on the industry.  The conference focused on the sharp fall in grain prices seen in the second half of 2008, accompanied by increasing global financial and economic turmoil.
