CBH Group, One of the Largest Grain Companies in Australia, Goes Live with Eka
Eka Software Solutions, the leading global provider of Smart Commodity Management software solutions, announced today that the CBH Group (CBH), one of Australia’s leading grain organisations, has now gone live with Eka’s end-to-end Eka.Agriculture platform. CBH has deployed Eka’s Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) solution for all position management, trading, risk management, operations, hedging, settlement and reporting requirements.
Andy Crane, CEO of CBH commented: “I am pleased to announce that CBH has gone live using Eka’s trading system. This is a very important project for us, as Eka’s modern, integrated platform for commodity management will position us well to manage risk and further growth. A key ingredient for this success is the close collaboration between the internal CBH teams and our Eka colleagues. I thank the Eka team for their professionalism and commitment throughout the process. CBH is looking forward to reaping the benefits of this implementation, and continuing to work with the Eka team.”
Manav Garg, founder & CEO of Eka said: “We are thrilled that CBH Group has begun to use Eka’s CTRM solution. As a specialist software house focused on global commodity markets, we are well positioned to enable firms like CBH Group to benefit from a complete, end-to-end solution, which manages the entire agriculture trade lifecycle.”
Mapped precisely to the work-flows of specific commodity classes and business segments, Eka’s CTRM software enables trading firms to run efficient operations while minimising their exposure to the transactional and financial risks associated with buying and selling physical commodities and maximising profits by having a real-time, unified view across all data.
The Eka CTRM platform at CBH provides advanced functional features for physical contracts, trading, position ticket management, settlements, cost of goods (COG), risk and exposure positions, derivatives trading, P&L calculations, as well as advanced logistics scheduling features. Eka is an intuitive, web-based application with an easy-to-use interface which means that the learning curve is short and the benefits of the system can be realised quickly.
The CBH Group is an integrated grain storage, handling and marketing co-operative controlled by growers for their benefit and the benefit of the grain industry in Western Australia. It is Australia’s biggest co-operative and a leader in the Australian grain industry, with operations extending along the value chain from grain storage, handling and transport to marketing, shipping and processing.
Owned and controlled by around 4,500 grain growers, the core purpose of the CBH Group is to create and return value to growers.
Since being established in Western Australia nearly 80 years ago, CBH has constantly evolved, innovated and grown. The Group currently employs approximately 1,000 permanent employees supported by up to 2,000 casual employees during harvest months. These employees are located across the State at one of nine regional offices, 197 receival site locations, four ports, engineering workshops or at head office in West Perth. It’s marketing division, aided by additional offices in Eastern Australia, Hong Kong and Tokyo, is responsible for exporting a range of grains to more than 20 markets across the world.
