Eka Names Michael Schwartz to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
The expansion of the management team is a result of an explosive year of growth for Eka.
Eka Software Solutions, the leading global provider of Smart Commodity Management software solutions, announced today that Michael Schwartz has been named as Chief Marketing Officer & Executive Vice President. During 2013, Eka experienced explosive growth in revenue and staff, and milestone achievements in industry recognition, acquisitions, new clients, and new products. Eka has established itself as the global leader in Smart Commodity Management solutions, expanding its footprint in all regions including the Americas, EMEA, Asia, and Australia. The addition of the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) role is an investment in Eka’s continuing growth.
“2013 brought many successes for Eka, and we will continue to expand our international presence, develop new product offerings, and acquire more companies in the coming years,” said Manav Garg, founder and CEO of Eka. “The addition of the CMO role reflects Eka’s growth in the Commodity Management software market. By expanding the marketing arm of our organization, we can continue our laser focus on bringing the right products to our customers at the right time. With an impressive background in growing technology companies, Michael is a great addition to our winning team.”
This appointment comes on the heels of several other senior management appointments in engineering and sales within Eka.
Before joining Eka, Mr. Schwartz was Chief Marketing Officer for Triple Point Technology, where he managed all of marketing. Prior to Triple Point, Mr. Schwartz served as the top marketing executive for Information Builders and C-bridge Solutions. He began his career with IBM Corporation. Mr. Schwartz earned an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business Administration.
“I am excited to join an already successful company and help bring it to the next stage of growth. I’ve seen this industry move from purely energy focused systems (ETRM) to more encompassing CTRM systems that include ags and metals. Eka is on the cutting edge in developing next-generation Commodity Management (CM) systems that include tools to turn large amounts of data into actionable insight,” stated Mr. Schwartz. “This is my fourth software company where I’ve headed the marketing team, from startup to very large, and I’m positive that Eka has both the products and team to lead the next generation of CM solutions. I’m committed to ensuring Eka’s success as we use our resources to develop the innovative solutions our customers need to manage the complexity and volatility of commodity markets.”
Adding to its resources to support its rapid growth, Eka took a strategic investment from Silver Lake, the world’s leading investor in the global technology industry. The partnership with Silver Lake is helping Eka expand to new markets and acquire additional companies.
